2 Année Ingénieur
This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the materials used in electrical engineering and their role in technological applications.
Main Content:
-
Role and Importance of Materials: Materials form the foundation of electrical and electronic components, affecting the performance, reliability, and efficiency of devices.
-
Classification of Materials: Based on their nature, materials are classified into:
-
Conductors: allow electric current to flow (e.g., copper, aluminum).
-
Insulators: prevent the flow of current (e.g., ceramics, polymers).
-
Magnetic Materials: used to generate or channel magnetic fields (e.g., iron, ferrites).
-
Semiconductors: control current flow as needed (e.g., silicon, germanium).
-
Superconductors: allow current to flow without resistance at low temperatures.
-
-
Fundamental Properties and Applications:
-
Mechanical: strength, hardness, flexibility for structural applications.
-
Thermal: thermal conductivity or insulation for heat management.
-
Electrical: conductivity, resistivity, dielectric constant depending on the function.
-
Magnetic: permeability and hysteresis for magnetic devices and transformers.
-
Final Objective: To enable students to select and use appropriate materials based on their properties to optimize the performance of electrical and electronic systems.
