The use of composite materials has grown steadily over the past decades, expanding into a
wide variety of industrial, technological, and scientific fields. In the automotive industry,
composites are commonly employed in components such as car wings, roofs, and structural
reinforcements. In aerospace, they form essential parts of aircraft fuselages and structural
assemblies, while in space applications, they serve as key elements of thermal protection
systems for spacecraft. Composites are also extensively used in naval engineering for boat
hulls, in microelectronics and nanotechnology for microcomponents and MEMS devices, in
the defense sector for armor systems, in medicine for prosthetic devices, and in sports and
leisure equipment, where their lightweight and high-performance characteristics are
particularly advantageous.
