Pharmacognosy and phytochemistry

The objective of the course is to provide a basic understanding of pharmacognosy and phytochemistry. Pharmacognosy focuses on the study of drugs, mainly of plant origin, having a therapeutic activity.   The course includes botanical aspects (systematics and taxonomy), extraction and fractionation, valorization through biological activities and formulations.
