The "Network" module in the second year of university computer science aims to deepen students' understanding of the fundamentals of computer networks. The course explores various aspects, from basic concepts to advanced technologies, including some notions of network security. Topics covered include network types, architectures, communication protocols, switching and routing technologies, data transmission, and network administration and management. Students acquire practical skills by configuring network devices, simulating networks, and tackling security challenges. Assessment may include written exams, practical projects and case studies to assess students' in-depth understanding of computer networks. This module is essential in preparing students to design, deploy and maintain network infrastructures in a variety of IT contexts.
