Geology

The student will be able to read and interpret a geological map and better understand geotechnical problems. Knowledge of the geophysical methods used.

This course in the “Geology” module has been written for students in the second year of the Science and Technology core curriculum in the “Civil Engineering and Hydraulics” stream. It complies with the official syllabus of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The course covers all the concepts in the program in a structured way, to make them easier to read and understand.

The aim of geology is to reconstruct the history of the earth from its origins to the present day, through the study of the constituent materials accessible to observation. Geology seeks to understand current processes and reconstruct the Earth's past history through the study of rocks and other geological archives and markers.
