  2. Technical English simplifies the rather complex rules of standard English and replaces difficult terminology with simpler synonyms.
  3. Technical language can be very useful in conveying complex ideas to an audience with the appropriate background knowledge

This course is dedicated to first-year students in the field of energy engineering and maintenance within the Mechanical Engineering Department. The lessons will be taught fully online through videos, quizzes, and online documents. The course is divided into five chapters, each of which contains at least four lessons.

The course objectives are as follows:

    • Initiate students in learning technical terms in the field of engineering.

    • Review previously acquired knowledge of English grammar, essentials of English writing, and technical vocabulary.

    • Since most students have had their prior education in Arabic, this course aims to help students learn basic mathematical terms (Analysis), physics concepts (Kinematics and Dynamics), and chemistry terms (Matter Structure) to assist them in a smooth transition to the English language.

    • In the final chapter of this course, some specialized lessons in various engineering topics, such as smart materials and nanotechnology, mechanical properties of materials, and metal cutting and forming, will be taught.
