1ére Année Tronc Commun

This course, "General Animal Biology," is intended for first-year students in the Life Sciences program for the academic year 2024/2025. This course is important as it will provide students with foundational knowledge about animal anatomy. It will begin with the embryology section, which focuses on the development of living beings from fertilization to birth, covering topics such as gametogenesis, fertilization, segmentation, neurulation, and more. Additionally, there will be a cytology component where students will explore the different types of tissues.
Embryology is important to study because it provides insight into the fundamental processes of development in living organisms, from fertilization to birth. By learning about key stages such as gametogenesis, segmentation, and neurulation, students gain essential knowledge about the formation of tissues and organs, which are crucial for the functioning of the organism. This understanding of developmental foundations can also inform fields such as medicine, biotechnology, and conservation by offering insights into developmental abnormalities and regeneration mechanisms.
