The purpose of the RDM is to determine the characteristics, materials, shapes and dimensions of the elements of a construction. It is also concerned with the theoretically study, the mechanical response of structures subjected to external stresses (tension, compression, shear, bending and twisting). It allows the evaluation of internal forces, constraints (normal and tangential) as well as the displacements of structures.
