The objective of this course is to grasp the fundamental principles of antenna operation, understand their characteristics, and become acquainted with the primary types of antennas employed in radiocommunications. The course covers a wide range of both fixed and mobile antenna systems. It begins by exploring fixed systems like the dipole, patch, aperture, horn, and parabolic antennas, and later delves into mobile systems such as the radar system and the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR).

The course is organised as follows: the first chapter revisits essential concepts and the key parameters of antennas to facilitate a better understanding of their operating principles. Subsequently, the second, third, and fourth chapters delve into the main types of antennas utilised in current technologies.
