Ethnologie spéciale / Special Ethnology

The objective of the special ethnology course is to present the morphological and phaneroptic characteristics used to identify the breeds of the main domestic species used as livestock, production animals, pets or leisure animals. This knowledge will allow the learners to:

  • learn how to detect certain conformation faults
  • learn how to take body measurements and calculate indexes to assess the size and proportions of animals
  • learn how to determine the age of a domestic animal by examining its teeth
  • establish a document for reporting an animal
  • learn how to diagnose breeds
