Toxicology is the science that studies the harmful effects of chemical substances on living organisms, the mechanisms of action of toxic substances, as well as the means for preventing, detecting and treating poisoning. Objective is to:

1. Understand the fundamental principles of toxicology (dose, route of exposure, dose-effect relationship, etc.).

2. Identify the cellular and biochemical mechanisms responsible for toxicity.

3. Recognize the major classes of toxic substances (medicinal, industrial, environmental, natural...).

4. Interpret toxicological test results and biological exposure indicators.

5. Apply the concepts of toxicokinetics and toxicodynamy.

6. Understand toxicological risk assessment methods and regulatory principles
