Applied biochemistry is a branch of biochemistry that focuses on the principle of:
– deriving from nature substances considered useful, such as medicines, fibers, and colorants;
– applying the fundamental principles and techniques of biochemistry to various practical fields.
This course is intended for third-year undergraduate students in Biochemistry and primarily aims to:
– acquire the most recent knowledge on substances and natural molecules exploited by humans;
– subsequently establish the link between the biochemistry of natural substances and their applications in diverse fields such as agriculture, the environment, energy production, animal and human nutrition, health, and many other areas closely related to the industrial sector (paper industry, cosmetics, agri-food industry, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, etc.).

Le cours est destiné aux étudiants L3, Spécialité: Biochimie.
La Biochimie Appliquée s’intéresse à l'étude des substances biologiques d'origine: végétale, animale ou microbienne, elles constituent, toutes, la matière première à partir de la quelle il est possible d'arriver à un certain nombre de produits susceptibles de trouver une application dans des domaines variés, notamment dans les industries agro-alimentaires, pharmaceutiques,cosmétiques, thérapeutiques....etc.

Scientific English module designed for Bachelor's biochemistry students (L3) has the main purpose to enhance their liguistic abilities particularly when it comes to the use of this tool in the academic context. However, in order to successfuly reach this goal, this module :
- will first reveal the importance of English as the international langage of science.
- will show the different contexts in which english could generally be used by focusing on Biomedical majors in particular, Biochemistry.
- will refer to some scientific papers where this language is most commnly used as the main language.
- will help students to further improve their speaking, writing and reading skills through a wide range of examples and activities.
