This course aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of essential biomolecules, including amino acids, proteins, and nucleic acids, by exploring their structure, physicochemical properties, and metabolism. A key part of the course focuses on enzymology, highlighting enzyme mechanisms, enzymatic kinetics, and activity regulation. Finally, the metabolism of nucleic acids is examined, covering the biosynthesis of purine and pyrimidine bases as well as nucleic acid degradation. The overall objective is to equip students with the fundamental knowledge required to understand the biochemical processes involved in cellular metabolism.
